ReadSquad is a reading mentoring program for students who are reading half a year or more behind their grade level. These struggling readers are assigned a teen mentor who meets with them weekly, and they work together to improve reading.

We’re excited to share that the work and mission of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy will continue through the Barbara Bush Fund for Family Literacy at the George & Barbara Bush Foundation. This new Fund will carry Barbara Bush’s vision of a more literate America into the future, unlocking the doors of opportunity for families nationwide for generations to come.
