Literacy Council of Tyler Texas receives grant from The Barbara Bush Foundation – KLTV

The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy has awarded $50,000 to the Literacy Council of Tyler in Tyler, Texas to support Family Learning Center of Tyler. LCOT is one of nine recipients selected in the 2012 grant competition totaling almost $400,000. Two additional programs were selected to receive $5,000 planning grants.

The grant to LCOT will support 16 children at Family Learning Center of Tyler. These children will receive high quality pre-school and pre-literacy instruction while their parents are learning to speak, read, and write English. FLCOT is a collaboration of LCOT, Tyler Junior College (TJC), and Tyler Independent School District (TISD).
