There is so much you can do in your local community to improve literacy, aside from contributing to the Foundation financially:
It could be as simple as reading to your kids or grandkids for a 20 minutes each day.
You could also volunteer at your local school, helping teachers excite youngsters about reading.
Or, you could serve as an English tutor for someone who is anxious to learn our language so he can improve his economic situation. You could even volunteer to teach a class of adults who never learned how to read as they were coming up through the school system long ago. Simply look up the local literacy programs in your area to learn more about opportunities.
